Dear List, The most glaring omissions are that of the Met performances from the thirties and forties with Tibbett, Ponselle, Rethberg, Pinza and Martinelli. I am not sure how anyone could think any recording superior to Traviata with Ponselle, Boccanegra with Tibbett, or Otello and Aida with Martinelli (the one with Pinza and Cigna). So far as recital discs, Callas' was a good choice, but I would mention Lisitsian, just to hear greatness in good sound. David Bresch Philadelphia
