On the thread of misdiagnosed thrush; what if the candida infection is something else and it is teated with gentian violet? What are the ramifications of using this or for that matter diflucan or even nystatin when the culprit is not yeast. Innapropriate usage of ABX and the possible problems there has been alluded to in the past; but I don't recall if there is a problem with anti-fungals creating issues of reduced resistance or decline in immune response should they be used when not necessary or innapropriate or if misdiagnosed. Any comments?
