Hi Carrie, The worst part is that this dentist is a woman and the minute a patient walks or crawls into her office, the assistant gives a hand-out about the dangers of baby bottle tooth decay, even if the mother says, "But my baby has never had a bottle." From my experience, some dentists assume that the baby is still bottle feeding past age 1 and automatically give the hand-out to ALL young patients. So I guess this means that the dentist is an equal opportunity discriminator . . . she says she will not treat patients who are still breastfeeding OR using a bottle. But I bet there are a few who aren't exactly truthful. It's terrible when mothers have to choose between having their children's dental health treated or being forced to wean from the bottle or breast. Maybe someone should sue the dentist. Heidi, in NM, where speaking of suing, I've been *invited* to serve jury duty. I've requested an exemption due to being my children's primary caregiver, year-round homeschool parent and a breastfeeding mother. *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
