Dor: Normally, I would agree with you; however, I have strong suspicions
that MY email to LN was privately emailed to these folks without my
permisssion. After searching the list of subscribers for LN, it became
apparent to me that this was the case. It is possible that I am wrong, but
for such an important issue I am willing to consider emails sent to and from
me as post-cards (that anyone can read). Since most email servers are not
encrypted, we should all remember this and act accordingly. Anytime I have
asked for info from someone, I try to in advance say that I will protect
their privacy (such as in the fee-schedule study where I have a password
protected file); but Internet Service Providers do not make such guarantees
for email servers and are liable to hackers all the time (my dh could tell
you how to access any unencrypted server in a relatively short time). Also,
these folks were sending emails from public (as in county) email accounts
which have no guarantee of privacy.
