The EMI performances are expansive (some would even say too slow) and rather broad compared to the DG recordings with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony, which are more in the mainstream of Bruckner interpretation. The Stuttgart 8th, in particular, is a fiery performance and rather gripping when compared with the incredibly slow Munich 8th. DG offers great sound. This summer will see the release of Bruckner's symphonies 3-5 with Stuttgart, also on DG (their first authorized release, as they have already been on a number of pirate labels like Exclusive, Arkadia, and Bells of St. Florian). I think a prospective purchaser who is bothered by Celi's slow tempi in the EMI set is likely to be pleased with the DG set(s). Saludos y que los disfrutes. Ramon Khalona Carlsbad, California
