More than once I have seen a conductor take the concert master by the hand and lead him offstage, ending the concert. I believe it is common for orchestra musicians to receive overtime pay if a concert goes beyond a certain hour. In Boston, the beginning time of concerts was changed from 8:30PM to 8:00PM about the time a new contract with musicians was implemented. On the matter of repeats, I have a simple attitude. Since I do not have the musical background to offer an informed opinion, if I like the music and performance - all is well, if not - then all is not well. Regards, Tom Connor
