Berkshire surprised my with an early (1.5 week) delivery of my self given
seasonal gift CD order. (I'm still waiting for the EveryCD order.) One
of the CDs I ordered on an impulse was an old Schubert recording with Paul
Badura-Skoda, (Wanderer Fantasie, Moments Musicaux and Impromptus). This
is a name I haven't heard in many years but remember with respect. The
recordings are from 1964 and 1955 but sound quite good and I'm enjoying
the performances.

This made me curious to know more of Paul Badura-Skoda. I found
surprisingly little on a Search of Badura-Skoda online but was surprised to
find a 1997 review with the Singapore Symphony in a Mozart concerto. He is
now apparently in his early to mid 70's.

Does anyone know more? I hadn't realized he was so young when these
recordings were made and am curious why I haven't seen a stronger presence.

Thanks, and Happy New Year to all,

Tom Connor
