I remember these terms from my old music theory days of a zillion years
ago.  Homophony refers to a musical texture where all the parts/voices
move together; it's often called "chordal" style.

Monody refers to one particular part/voice dominating the musical
landscape.  My recollections might not be accurate, but I think they're
in the ballpark.  If not, my apologies.
