CELEBRA LA CIENCIA SEEKS PARTNERS

Celebra la Ciencia is seeking additional sites for potential expansion of the
project. While plans are not yet finalized and funding is not secured,
expansion sites may benefit from seed funding for activities, technical assistance
and training, and national media support. Several children's museums,
including the Capital Children's Museum, Kidspace, and the Chicago Children's Museum,
are involved in the project.

Celebra la Ciencia is a project developed by the Self-Reliance Foundation
(SRF)to increase the involvement of Latino students and families in science.
Through this NSF-supported project, SRF has worked with science centers,
community organizations, schools, universities, and media to create community
coalitions that sponsor family science festivals and other family science events. The
project is supported by a national media campaign, website and by an 800-toll
free bilingual Informal and Referral Helpline that assists students and
parents in find informal science resources, homework help, and sources of financial
aid for higher education. The five regions where Celebra la Ciencia is
currently active includes: Washington, DC; Yakima/Tri-Cities, Washington; Chicago,
