Peter Stoll recommends:
>Simon Silber - Works for Solo Piano
>A fictitious biography (taking the form of liner notes) of a quite
>peculiar composer-pianist, supposedly written by a not less peculiar
>man of letters. Some readers might accuse the book of rehashing old
>postmodernist tricks, but on the whole I found it quite engaging.
Just to throw in my oar here, I found this book a rather tedious rewrite
of Nabokov's Pale Fire (and I wasn't so thrilled with Pale Fire, either),
with characters similar to those in Olesha's Envy.
