From KGA: My understanding (from clinical observations) is that mothers who
take Depo Provera within 1st month pp have serious problems with milk
production. If she is in bed, nursing, pumping, etc. she had best be off
Depo Provera for her to turn things around. At some point, also, she needs
to share her experience with the MD who prescribed and said it wouldn't
hurt breastfeeding. Perhaps this MD will learn from this mother's
experience and be somewhat less likely to prescribe and recommend its use
so soon after birth. Does he think all mothers are rarin' to go with
penetrating lovemaking that soon? Has he never looked at the vagina
post-delivery? Looks like a piece of raw meat!!! (Maybe Mother Nature has
in mind letting that area "rest" when she makes mothers more interested in
their babies than in their mates the first month or 40 days after birth!
(Just a thought.)
