Danny Tan responded to Deryk Barker's:
>>The Everest recordings of the 1950s are often in very good sound,

>>Pity the performances are dull as ditchwater.
>I really want to have more of these Everest CDs, cos' they really sound
>superb. Already have the Karajan Beethoven symphonies, but the Krips',
>if they sound so nice, is really tempting. Does anyone has anything
>different to say about the performances?
No, Danny, I agree with Deryk - avoid them. Another Everest not yet
mentioned is Antheil's 4th (not to be confused with Antill, whose ballet
Corroboree is on that label). This was one of their best recordings, IMHO,
but I've yet to hear the Naxos version for comparison.
