Was someone waiting for them backstage to ambush them with sharp objects if
they did not play Schubert's quintet? Did someone kidnap their loved ones
and threaten them harm if said piece was not done? If not, how about merely
stating that the piece was unsuitable
for the accoustics and opting for someone else?
