Hello all,

Last week there was a message regarding Duoderm Hydro gel and severe
cracked nipples. A collegue of mine (also an IBCLC) is desperately trying
to help a mother with the worst cracked nipples she's ever seen. Nothing
helped thusfar and all the regular causes are ruled out, so I told her
about the hydrogel and that she could give it a try.

Now here's my problem. I can't recall exactly HOW (often, long, and in what
way) to use it and the pharmacist here says :"she'll have to keep them on
for 2 to 3 DAYS, no removing before that, otherwise it won't work and the
nipples won't heal".
This seems quite breastfeeding disturbing to me, since pumping or feeding
the baby with the gauzes on is going to be impossible.

I've searched the archives last night, but could only find two messages
(the one about availability and the original question).

So please.......... Help me ! By the way, what does *drsgs* mean? I guess
it means something like 'Gauze'.

TIA,
Renate Rietveld, IBCLC.
