Nikki,
It is disheartening to know that women do not educate themselves or get
second opinions. They just trust what their Doctor says when it comes to
macrosomia and inductions. Most of our inductions are for no reason. Just "because"
the baby's lungs are supposedly "ready" and mom has complained about her
pregnancy aches. Many of our C-sections are elective now. Some women are asking
for them and the Doctors oblige. Many C-sections are because the moms were told
their baby is too big already and no way will she be able to deliver
vaginally, especially if mom is petite. My mother was very petite and I was frank
breech, her first (50 yrs ago, vag delivery, yes she was scared to death, they
warned her of possibilities of complications), then my brother weighed 10
pounds. My sister was a little over 8 pounds but mom had near pneumonia at the time
of delivery. She would have been sectioned for all of those reasons in
today's world.

So Nikki, you are not alone.

On a lighter note my neighbor just birthed her 3rd daughter, NATURALLY! The
first 2 were with epidurals. She finally decided to take the plunge and trust
herself! She has been floating on cloud nine! Praising natural birth to
everone! She is thrilled to have experienced it and wishes she had with all
three. She doesn't think she will have a baby number 4 but if she did she would
consider a home birth! And then there was the mom who had a c-section after 2
normal vaginal deliveries. She is wondering why ANYONE would EVER want to
have a c-section! She had complications and a normal delivery was out of the
question.

PS I haven't received anything from the boards confirming my location for
the exam. Anyone else?? I am getting nervous about this! I only received my
initial letter months ago.
