This discussion made me wonder if I need to respond "yes" to this
question. Does it include when my supervisor accuses me of not
being "family-centered" because I don't say, in effect, "whatever
the parents want is fine" without giving them information to make a
more fully educated choice? Or the parents who are dead-set on
giving both battle and breast from the start (and probably have a
copy of BS on their table) who complain I was "pressuring" them to
breastfeed when I gently offer reasons why it might be better to
wait 'till closer to the end of the first month to start with
bottles?

I don't think the question means that if you answer "yes" you are
automatically disqualified from recertification. If that was the
case, they wouldn't ask for further info. My suspicion is that they
want to be alert to any IBCLC's who are not acting ethically. Of
course, the question then arises-If one is knowingly acting counter
to the professional ethics, will they answer the question honestly?

Winnie
