If the baby will take the breast, just use a supplementer. Lact-Aid
Nursing Trainer or Supplemental Nursing System, or just a tube on a
syringe or in a bottle of whatever mom is feeding baby all work. Mom can
express or pump after feedings, when her flow is likely to be best
(babies are most effective at getting those hormones flowing).

If baby will not take the breast, expressing/pumping until there's some
flow and spending lots of time skin to skin may help, there are many
ways to modify bottle feeding to stimulate breastfeeding behaviors
(touch nipple vertically across baby's lips like a finger motioning
'shh' so baby opens wide to latch to bottle, slow the flow with neutral
positioning, bottle feed with baby sidelying at the breast and then try
'bait and switch'). Does she have access to a good IBCLC?

Subject: Progesterone/prolactin receptors

Hi Nikki!

You wrote: "The prolactin receptor sites need to be emptied of progesterone

be sufficient for her 4 or 5 month old baby."

Wow, I knew about the importance of early and efficient postpartum suckling
to program long term milk supply, and need for progesterone evels to go
down, as progesterone inhibits prolactin, but was not aware that
progesterone blocked prolactin by filling the same receptor sites! Where
can I read about this?
