Esther, I am interested in the idea of a hospital protocol for babies born
by vaccuum delivery.
First step I could imagine would be as much skin to skin as soon and as
often and long as possible - often for days...( among other great reasons:
to sooth /help heal the traumatic intervention for the baby and mother..).
Teaching the mother the cross-cradel postion or football position, with no
touch at all on the head also is a good idea. ( including specific
instructions to the mother that as little touching/pressure on the head, the
better.)
Hoemeopathic ARNICA for Mom and for Baby is often very beneficial. (If this
isn't accepted for the HOspital protocol it could be advice given to the
mother without being officially printed out...)
I would be very interested in many other ideas to add to the Protocol...
CLOSE TO THE HEART
Leslie
