This is not quite lactation related.....but I need some help with this.

The local media in St. Louis has been following a rise in the incidences of
deaths due to what they call "shared sleep". The "experts" they have been
interviewing on TV have said under no circumstances should parents sleep with
their babies.

Come to find out, the lastest "shared sleep" death has been attributed to the
mom having drunk 3 beers and a half of a bottle of schnapps (but did the TV
station listen to my pleas to invistigate this possiblity? NO!). She had no
idea how the baby even got in bed with her.

Anyway, I know this isn't lactation related, and I hope no one minds that I'm
posting this here (please forgive me if I'm out of line with this), but I
know I can get an answer here - a local TV reporter is now doing some
investigation on this. Can someone point me in the direction of studies and
articles about co-sleeping reducing the chances of SIDS so I can pass these
references onto the TV reporter?

Thank you - I now return you to your regular lactation discussion.....
