In my tiny practice in southern Ontario I find about 80% of my clients have babies with tongue ties or lip ties. In our LLL group, if a mum speaks up about sore nipples or poor weight gain it is almost always a tongue tie missed by health professionals. We get about one a month there. My friend, who is a doula (and should in theory see a random assortment of babies) has noticed an increase of tongue ties as well.

It does make me wonder.

Is it because moms are reaching out to us, rather than just grabbing a bottle and being happy to formula feed?? What has changed? Incidence or reaching out or both??? Going crazy---Pat in SNJ
