In a meta-analysis of approximately 400 studies on many aspects of
breastfeeding and both maternal and infant outcomes done by Tufts New
England Medical Center Evidence Based Practice Center in April 2007,
they found that breastfeeding 3 or more months was associated with a
reduction in atopic dermatitis in those subjects with a family history
of atopy. Reduction was by 42%.
