I am proud of our local CBS news. I was disappointed that it wasn't until
the last half of the new that they aired their BF segment, but the content
made up for it. They focused mostly on working moms and breastfeeding, and
how local companies were making it easier for mothers to pump in a private
and comfortable location. One of the Oregon state offices' had made a very
pleasant and comfortable room for BFing moms to pump and nurse in. They
also emphansized that education and good support were neccessary and how
that BFing was worth the effort. I was disappointed that they did not offer
LLL as a educational resource, only one of the hospitals and LC 800 #
(1-800-Get Help, I think).
Oh, I almost forgot, one of the nursing moms highlighted was still pumping
and nursing her 1 year old. I thought it was great that they were showing a
mom of a toddler. We of course did not see her nursing, but it is a step in
the right direction.
My .02 about Chicago Hope was a big sigh also. I noticed that they were
going to have a baby die next week on the show also.
