The drug metformin is used to achieve & maintain pregnancy, and also for lactation for this subgroup.  Off topic question for those who understand this drug...a pediatric endocrinologist did a study on anti-psychotics and metabolism and found that metformim helps with weight gain and the metabolic impact of drugs such as risperidone.  Could someone explain to me how it works or what the connection might be?
