Hi all,

I am at a loss here.  PTP.  Mom of a 1 month old says her baby breaks the suction/seal with every suck and makes a pig noise each time.  This is making her sore.  She noticed his uvula is somewhat short but didn't appreciate any other defect nor tongue tie and says his palate is normal.  (She is a family practice MD.)  She said she will pump 1/2 to 1 ounce of milk prior to latch and this seems to help a little.  

It sounds like tongue tie to me, but if she doesn't see it, could it be something else?  Baby is also being treated for reflux with Prevacid and she is on a lactose and soy free diet for the past 2 weeks.  She nursed her other 2 children for 1 year and 14 months respectively.

Thoughts?
