Hi, just wanted to point out that no one in my area is doing circs with
only sucrose suckers as analgesia. Everyone here uses a local, a dorsal
penile block. The sucrose sucker seems to help while the local is being
administered. The little guys are generally pretty calm for the circ,
and are back with Mom long before the local wears off.
The alternative of course would be to forego the procedure, but parents,
at least in my area, don't want to hear that.
Sorry this is off-topic, but I didn't want people thinking circs are
being done with only a little sugar to ease the pain.
