cindy
i didnt' answer becoz i really dont' know the answer and also didn't have
any extra time but becoz you really need info and didnt get any answers i'll
try (and i only have a minute ;) becoz my 7 yr old needs me RIGHT NOW to
arrange for a freind to sleepover this weekend :) ah motherhood!)
re the mom with MS who has low progesterone and low testosterone: if she
takes progesterone and / or testosterone to replace what should already be
there then i don't see the harm with bf. that is to say that she would
normally have these homrones present anyway if she were in balance.
i don't know but i don't think that low prog or low testost is related to
bf. estrogen levels are known to be lower during bf. i am not sure if anyone
surely knows what the normal hormonal milieu is for "long term" bf moms.
i don't know what problems or symptoms she is having and what if anything
needs tinkering with. maybe she is trying to ameliorate her ms symptoms with
hormones, having read or heard you say about a link betw hormones and ms.
hopefully she will work with a good practitioner who knows ms,
endocrinology, and values her continued bf. i am sure a naturopath or other
practitioner could work with her as well, altho i have no expereicne with
this.
