There is very little taught about the common anomaly of ankyloglossia in
medical, dental or speech therapy schools. For some unknown reason, the
healthcare community has stuck its head into the ground when it comes to the topic of
ankyloglossia. I am hoping someone has referred you to my website, but if
they have not, I have 3 sections on the site regarding ankyloglossia. They
are: Significance for the need of treatment, classification and videos of
frenectomies at: http://brianpalmerdds.com/frenums_videos.htm , Breastfeeding and
frenulums at: http://brianpalmerdds.com/bfeed_frenulums.htm , and Frenum
presentation at: http://www.brianpalmerdds.com/frenum.htm . Hope this helps finish
your research. Would love to get a copy of your final paper someday. I will
be doing an online presentation on this topic in the near future.
Brian Palmer, DDS
