Iron supplements seem to be the topic of the week. Carla's post mentioned
Floradix supplement. Are there other iron supplements that are more fully
assimilated than ferrous sulfate and easier on the GI track?

I am working with a client whose baby was premature and is taking an iron
supplement. He screams with pain and gets red in the face and rigid when
the intestinal pains come. He also flattens mom's nipples along with his
rigid jaws at this time. When she stops the iron he stops all of the above
symptoms.

Are there reliable sources of iron for a 7-week old baby that won't be so
damaging to his GI track?
