"Calling the nicu
nurse for a report gets into pt confidentiality issues."
Laurie - and others - is this true? I thought that technically - and I
might be wrong, please don't all attack at once - anyone can call a
hospital and get a one word report on a patient. Such as 'serious';
'stable'; 'critical', etc. Isn't this how news reports, as well as
relatives/friends of patients, get info on patient conditions? I had
thought that calling the NICU unit would be the same procedure. I would not
want to do it at all if I thought I would be breaching a confidentiality code.
