I had a similar question come up about two years ago and called the
Lactation Study Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center,
(716) 275-0088.  They said that tattoos do not pose a risk to
breastfeeding other than the risk of infection to all who receive a
tattoo.  Another suggestion that I received at the time was to check the
blood donation guidelines after a tattoo as a reference (at that time it
was 6 months after a tattoo before donating blood).
