Dee Dee,

You are so right. Many of the mothers-to-be in my prenatal classes give
me the same line about "trying" breastfeeding, half expecting they will
give up after a short while. Breastfeeding is thought of some impossible
task that only the most educated and motivated earth mothers can
achieve. Same goes for giving birth. We are so conditioned to believe
the mass marketing concepts shoved down our throats. I recently found a
copy of the Continuum Concept and re-read it. It has been translated
into Hebrew. It is a real eye-opener. I'm putting it on the required
reading list of a course I am giving.

Warm regards,

Susan Nachman-Srebrnik, IBCLC
who REALLY misses the snow.
