Re: << I am sure there are others out there who have seen this generation of kids growing up with the back of their heads flat and I have seen some who have had to wear a special helmet to reshape their heads when they are 2 years of age... This flat headedness can be prevented by the "back to sleep" and "tummy to play" mantra. And of course sling wearing etc. attachment parenting, etc :) >>

There are numerous web sites devoted to this topic, which has the technical name of "positional plagiocephaly." Unbelievably, I've yet to come across one that emphasizes PREVENTION! This is a preventable health/cosmetic issue via AP/cue-based parenting and avoiding plastic parenting, yet the current emphasis still appears to be on what to do AFTER baby develops a flat head!

For those with an interest, the "repositioning" techniques cited include tummy time and using carriers rather than put baby in one after another of plastic containers that reinforce the problem:

Petition to AAP re: positional plagiocephaly -- includes stats on the increase in the problem (from about 1 in 300 about a decade ago to 1 in 60 now).
