Dr. Schanler is the current president of the Academy of Breastfeeding
Medicine, a true supporter of breastmilk and breastfeeding for preterm
infants, and one of the most intellectually honest and rigorous researchers I
know.  His and Dr. Meier's work together have done more to convince us
stubborn neonatologists that breastmilk is the standard of care for NICU
babies than anyone else.
