this topic in their book "Dr. Jack Newman's Guide to Breastfeeding" aka "The
Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers."  Another great book on this topic
is "Mothering Your Nursing Toddler" (February, 2000 revised edition) by
Norma J. Bumgarner.
