Hi Renee

I do know that Nils Bergman was doing some research into Dad's and the
optimal time for Dad's to begin holding and skin to skin. I am not sure
that it is the research that you are really after or even if Dr Bergman has
even completed or published the findings. You may like to go the the
Kangarooo Mother Care site (Dr Bergman has a photos of KMC in action and
talks about his research findings) and using the "contact us" bar could
email him and ask him if you have not been able to source in infomation that
you want.

I do know that we have had discussion about dads and skin to skin. I
remember various people talking about the effect of the babys temperature on
skin to skin and comparing to mothers ability to regulate babies
temperature. There was research suggesting that dads generally overheated
the baby where as mother regulated her own and baby's body temperature.

I know that this is not what you were after but it may point you in a
direction to discover the answers (or lack of answers lol) that you seek.

Kind regards
