Why can't she breastfeed?  Because it hurts or because the doctor says
she can't.  If it is because it hurts, it will get better, and she can
take pain medication.  If it is because the doctor says so, the doctor
is mistaken.

By the way, surgeons should be making incisions so that breastfeeding
can continue.  This should not such a big deal for bright, skillful
surgeons who are doing surgery on fetuses for crying out loud.
