I am still going through my unofficial "survey" of people who nursed
through pregnancy, and I did come across one scenario like this. The
child was about 12 months when they self-weaned due to colostrum changes
(mom was pg again) and re-started much later again. I don't remember
what age. I know the mom said she had to ask the child to open wide,
and show the child several times that the tongue had to be kept over the
edge of the lower teeth, etc., but eventually a satisfactory latch was
re-established, or so the mom told me.

I have not met these people, so I have not seen this in action, but this
is the story I was told.

Personally, I thought it was very "cool" to be able to allow this child
the opportunity to re-wean at a more appropriate age, perhaps even at an
age when the pregnancy differences (colostrum, etc.) wouldn't deter the
child anymore in the same way.

I'm sure those governmental agencies could sometimes turn just about
*anything* into molestation if they felt it was needed. :-(

Fio.
