I think the best argument against not allowing the resumption of
breastfeeding until X numbers of hours is the simple question-"What
causes a patient to 'come out' of anesthesia?"  The answer of course
is that the medication is getting out of her body.  Therefore, if
it's out of her body sufficiently to allow her to be awake and at
least moderately alert, then there's not enough to affect the baby!
