Dear Dr Rob, as a pediatric primary care health provider it would be very
appropriate for you to be IBCLC. It kind of tends to invade your whole
philosophy of health care, your patients' moms will benefit and nurse their
babies longer and your overall practice will be healthier and healthier.
Believe me, I look at the charts of our mostly bottle fed babies and then a
BF baby comes in. The difference is startling. Chart simply consists of
well vss for immunizations. Hardly ever any "sick" visits until they wean.
That was my own personal experience too. Ted nursed for 2 + years. Had GI
virus at age 4 and thought he was dying when he vomited for the first time
ever!
