Mary and Alica wrote about CFIDS.  From the extensive reading I have done, as
well as numerous visits to numerous physicians, it is my humble opinion that
chronic fatigue is most definitely associated with Epstein Barr Virus (but
not CMV).  The symptoms are similar to mononucleosis but linger much longer.
 In the UK, I believe it is actually termed Post Viral Syndrome or something
similar.  I don't know that the syndrome is actually CAUSED by the virus.  It
is the manner in which the immune system responds to the virus that seems to
be the culprit.  One of the red flags is that a person has had a simple virus
and never completely recovers.  In fact, many physicians will not even
consider CFIDS as a diagnosis without that history.
