There is no reason the mother cannot breastfeed even if the baby does
have PKU.  We have most of the babies in our clinic breastfeeding at
least partially.  The chances of a mother with PKU having a baby with
PKU are fairly small.

The physicians that say no should have to provide evidence that
breastfeeding is risky for the baby.  Don't worry, they will have
nothing.
