I have a patient who decided to "assign" her twins their own breast
after her own research on this dilemma prior to their delivery. She had
problems with yeast growth with her previous child as well as the child
having thrush. She was concerned that, if one twin developed thrush it
could be passed back and forth. She also wanted to make sure each twin
would be getting equal shares of both the fore and hind milk. It ended
up that her twins "picked" their own breast. Both are thriving well
growth and developmentally. Mom must have had an inside track on future
developments, because one twin developed thrush. Mom had yeast on
"that twins breast" but not the other. She also was able to prevent the
non infected twin from developing thrush.
Good ole Mother's instinct.
