Now this is the knid of baby I work with all the time! This baby may very
well have compression at the occipital/atlanto joint with a possible
subluxation of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd cervical vertebrae. I have had 9 or ten
babies in the last few months, all with vacuume extractor induces extreme
molding, an odd lie in utero or a cephalhematoma who have intra-oral
hypertonicity that manifests as chomping behavior at breast. in every single
case, C1, C2, or C3 was subluxed! I feel a research study coming on...

Of course the solution is to have a CranioSacral therapist, DO or
Chiropractor take a look and release the restrictions.

Or, maybe the baby is tongue-tied... in which case a frenotomy is the
solution.

Or, maybe the baby has intra-oral hypertonicity secondary to food allergy. In
which case, elimination diet of the offending allergen (from the mom's diet)
is the key.
