I want to apologize to Kathy Koch and to the list for seeming to flame her
for her query about phone consults and positioning. I was expressing
frustration over how many times people who ought to know better (in the
hospt) can't identify and remediate poor position at breast, and how sad it
is for mothers to think this can then be remedied over the phone. I'm sure
Kathy did and said everything appropriate that she could. It is truly
unfortunate that my remarks seemed to be critical of her when they were
intended to be critical to the situation she was put in. My point was to
comment on the difficulty of assessing sore nipple over the phone -- not to
question her advice, which I know was generous and informative.
Sorry, Kathy.
