I'm posting this without my files available, but what I recall from my exam
prep (Thanks Coach Smith, for encouraging reading of Hartmann's studies
directly) was that once milk production switches from endocrine control to
autocrine control that the prolactin levels drop to just above normal
levels.  If all else fails, is it possible to test the levels?  Perhaps the
levels aren't high enough to make a difference even for this surgeon?
