Dear friends,

An interesting question was posed by a mother on a breastfeeding forum: she read advice from a physician specialised in diving physiology who stated that mothers can only resume diving about a month after weaning, because the tiredness that breastfeeding causes (his words not mine, mind you) and the fact that *a* hormone needed for lactation (not specified in his text) is not excreted well while diving will make it dangerous for her and bad for lactation.
Well, I certainly am not a diving expert, but I do know a few things about lactation and I don't see it. Any Lactnut here who is knowledgable in both lactation and diving physiology who can clear things up for me?

Warmly,

Gonneke, IBCLC in PP, LClecturer in southern Netherlands where the sun is trying to get back
