In "Breastfeeding: biocultural perspectives" from Macadam and Dettwyler
there is an article from McKenna about co sleeping, breastfeeding and SIDS.
In this aricle he mentions that the effect of infant feeding on botulism is
very strong. A bottlefeed baby will allways die from botulism (and it is
often not recognized but categorized as SIDS. It is estimated that a
certain precentage of all SIDS deaths are actually botulism deaths). a
breastfeeding baby will get very sick, often with long life effects, but
usually survives.
