Our hospital is 100% on board....NO babies will be forced into this world before 39 weeks, period.  Only if medically deemed necessary.  The Doctor who does not follow the recommendations and our new guidelines will be counseled.  Our Medical Director is serious about this problem. We are already seeing big differences.  Now do some Doctors INVENT a medical reason to do an induction or C/S earlier...oh, I am sure.  But if they write large for gestational age and the baby comes out 7 pounds, they will be investigated, etc. 

I hope you can present the March of Dimes recommendations and encouraged your Directors to do the same.  Who else can speak for these babies?
