Hmmm....perhaps ; )

Lactose-free formulas are being widely promoted in the UK nursing press. We
do not use many specialist formulas here, not even soy,  and they are
really doing their best to expand the market.

SMA LF is advertised for the  'up to 50 per cent of babies' [ don't you
just love that 'up to'? ] who are affected by  LI after gastro-enteritis.
Apparently it lasts 4-8 weeks.  SMA talks about 'proven' LI.

Enfamil is being advertised because 'some babies suffer from fussiness,
wind and diarrhoea associated with lactose intolerance' . No mention of GE
and it is promoted as a 'first step to try before soy formula for infants
with feeding problems'.  No mention of 'proven' LI.

What a tragedy if mothers of bf babies with 'fussiness' are somehow led to
think they should give LI-free formula....anyway, babies *need* lactose.

Sheesh.
