Very small amounts of mefenamic acid are excreted into breastmilk. AAP
classifies drug as compatible with breastfeeding.

NOTE: I am willing to answer medication questions (if I can - I don't have all
the answers - and if I am not Nomail), but I will not do so if I see that
someone is specifically asking for Dr. Newman's or Dr. Hale's advice. People
are still asking for Dr. Hale's advice even though he notified Lactnet that he
will be Nomail for the next several months. If I see that Dr. Newman has not
been able to answer a question, or that I might have something more to add, I
will do my best. I would also appreciate it if you would not use my name in your
request (unless you are asking me a question by personal contact) as I will
monitor the questions when I am online with Lactnet and reply when I see a need.
Thanks.
